Odds on Who Kendrick Lamar Will Perform With at the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Kendrick Lamar is the latest star confirmed to headline a Super Bowl Halftime Show in what will be an historic moment.

Announced by Jay-Z's Roc Nation, Apple Music, and the NFL on the first Sunday of the new season earlier this month, the 17-time Grammy Award winner will make history on February 9, 2025, when he becomes the first rapper to headline a Super Bowl Halftime Show by himself when he takes to the stage at the Caesars Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Jay said in a statement, "Rap music is still the most impactful genre to date. And I'll be there to remind the world why. They got the right one."

He added: "Kendrick Lamar is truly a once-in-a-generation artist and performer. "His deep love for hip-hop and culture informs his artistic vision. He has an unparalleled ability to define and influence culture globally. Kendrick’s work transcends music, and his impact will be felt for years to come."

It will be Lamar's second time performing at the Super Bowl Halftime Show, after he did so in Los Angeles in 2022 alongside the likes of Dr. Dre, Snoop Dogg, Eminem, and Mary J. Blige.

Such is the anticipation for the show, fans have already started speculating whether K. Dot—a name he originally went by as a mixtape rapper in high school—will use the huge platform to continue his feud with Drake. The pair have been embroiled in a rap battle of late, after they exchanged a series of high-profile diss tracks.

While no other artists have been announced as performing alongside Lamar, it wouldn't be a surprise if he was joined by several famous faces on the Caesars Superdome stage in February.

Swift and Lamar's Monumental Moment

Lamar has collaborated with so many huge artists, so he has a massive list of potential Super Bowl Halftime Show co-stars to choose from. It would certainly be a monumental moment if he called upon Taylor Swift.

It did come to fruition that the pair could perform their 2015 remix of Bad Blood, which would mark Swift's Super Bowl Halftime Show debut. She is, of course, no stranger to the Super Bowl after attending this year's spectacle in Vegas to cheer on her boyfriend Travis Kelce, as his Kansas City Chiefs side defeated the San Francisco 49ers 25-22, and has been tipped as a Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner of the future.

Should Swift appear on stage alongside Lamar, it could be the perfect warm-up for her own headline slot in a couple of years. It is 10/11 that Swift teams up with Lamar in February next year, and 1/1 that another pop megastar, Beyonce, does so.

The pair have previously collaborated on Beyonce's 2016 song Freedom and 2022 tune AMERICA HAS A PROBLEM, and the latter could be particularly popular depending on the result of the upcoming US presidential election.

Should Bey join Lamar on stage, it would mark her hat-trick of Halftime Show performances. She has performed at the Halftime Show twice before, including in New Orleans in 2013 at the very stadium Lamar will play in next year, which was then known as the Mercedes-Benz Superdome.

Beyonce was supported by her Destiny's Child co-stars on that night, and she returned to the spectacle three years later as one of the Coldplay's support acts for the Super Bowl 50 Halftime Show in Santa Clara.

2022 Revisited?

Another option for Lamar would be to revisit 2022 by bringing Dr Dre and Snoop Dogg back to the Super Bowl stage.

After admitting in his statement that he will "remind the world why" rap music is "still the most impactful genre to date," this appears to hint the star might collaborate with several other rappers for his historic show.

Dre (2/1) and Snoop (5/2) are likely to be on his list, and Jay Rock (11/2), Future and Metro Boomin (6/1) and Baby Keem (8/1) could be, too. But how about Lil Wayne?

The Lollipop hitmaker was among the favourites to be chosen as next year's Super Bowl Halftime Show headliner in his home city of New Orleans, and it's fair to say there has been some disappointment in the entertainment industry that he was overlooked.

The likes of Nicki Minaj and Birdman, among others, have both aired their views about it. While Lamar could still involve him in next year's spectacle, Wayne has been a big supporter of Drake over the years, which could complicate matters.

Despite this, it would be a surprise if Wayne wasn't at least asked, particularly considering his New Orleans connections, and if he does appear they could collaborate on Wayne's 2018 track Mona Lisa. He is 4/1 to say yes, if asked, while it's 6/4 that Lamar and Rihanna collaborate in New Orleans and 3/1 that he takes to the stage with SZA.

Odds on How Many Songs Kendrick Lamar Will Perform at the 2025 Super Bowl Halftime Show

Should Lamar and Rihanna team up, they would likely perform his song LOYALTY together, while he could bring SZA out to perform their tune All The Stars. But one star who is extremely unlikely to share the stage with Lamar is Drake, who is a 50/1 outsider to appear at next year's Super Bowl Halftime Show.

It's more likely Lamar performs one of his Drake diss tracks, Not Like Us, which he recently played five times on the bounce to conclude a June gig in Inglewood, California. During the show, he brought out Dre to perform two songs, Still D.R.E. and 2Pac cover California Love, before the pair launched into the first version of Lamar's Not Like Us tune.

Lamar To Diss Drake On Super Bowl Stage?

At the same show, Lamar opened with the 2024 song Euphoria, another diss track he wrote about Drake, in response to the Canadian rapper's single Push Ups. It's 6/4 he opens his Super Bowl Halftime Show with Euphoria, but just 11/8 favourite he does so with Not Like Us.

It would be some statement if Lamar chose that as his opening gambit, and it wouldn't even be much of a surprise if he played the tune more than once throughout his set. It would be particularly effective if he opted to both open and close his set with the diss track.

Lamar has opened some recent shows with song United in Grief or track N95 and it's 13/8 and 7/2 respectively, that he plays those first on February 9. What's more, his hits A.D.H.D. (7/4), m.A.A.d. City (15/8), and Alright (2/1) could also be in contention.

Lamar has such a large discography of top tunes to choose from, and he is likely to have around 12 to 15 minutes on stage during the Halftime Show.

In the past, artists' sets have varied massively. Irish rockers U2 performed just three tunes in full when they headlined the same New Orleans stadium, which was called the Louisiana Superdome at the time. They performed Beautiful Day, MLK, and Where the Streets Have No Name, and their set was a tribute to those killed in the September 11 attacks.

However, a more popular choice tends to see artists play a medley of their hits, just as Usher did in this year's Halftime Show at Las Vegas' Allegiant Stadium. He brought several stars on stage with him, including Alicia Keys, Will.i.am, and Ludacris.

Thanks in part to his star-studded assistance, Usher managed to cram in a staggering 14 tunes, while the year before Rihanna sang 12 songs. Lamar is 4/5 to follow suit and perform between 11 and 15 songs next year. But during Dre, Eminem, Snoop, Lamar, and Co's 2022 set, they performed a total of 10 tunes, which included Lamar blasting out m.A.A.d. City and Alright.

Odds on Kendrick Lamar First Super Bowl Halftime Show Song

K. Dot is 11/10 to rap between six and 10 tracks at the Halftime Show, 2/1 to perform a huge haul of 16 or more, and it is 5/1 he covers just one to five tracks on the big stage.

That seems unlikely, but one way it might work would be if he only played Not Like Us four or five times for his whole set—that would be a big statement but potentially disappointing for fans and viewers hoping to hear his dazzling discography. It is also a big price, 6/1, for there to be a wardrobe malfunction during Lamar's Halftime Show set.

Odds on a Super Bowl 2025 Halftime Show Wardrobe Malfunction

The most controversial Halftime Show moment in history occurred in 2004 during Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake's performance, when JT accidentally exposed part of Jackson's breast. It completely overshadowed their big moment and has since been known simply as the "wardrobe malfunction," "Nipplegate," or "Janetgate."

While a 2025 wardrobe malfunction is unlikely, it wouldn't be a shock if we had "Drakegate.".
