*NSYNC fans could be in for a fantastic 2025 after recent reports have suggested Justin Timberlake is in talks for a major reunion with the band.

The pop group—also made up of JC Chasez, Lance Bass, Joey Fatone, and Chris Kirkpatrick—is known for hits such as Bye Bye Bye and It's Gonna Be Me, but they haven't released an album since 2001's Celebrity. That proved to be their swansong album, as Justin went solo a year later and he hasn't really looked back since, achieving plenty of chart success.

However, the I Want You Back hitmakers could be about to come back in style, following a report that Justin has been speaking to his pals about a potential live comeback show and an album to mark their 30th anniversary next year. Justin's discussions are also said to include plans for a documentary about their 1990s rise to fame.

A Los Angeles music consultant told the Sunday Mirror newspaper, "The desire has always been for them to do one major comeback. This could be the one—the 30th anniversary is something very special.”

"Certainly, for the rest of the boys, it’s a now-or-never moment. A live performance recorded as a special, along with a full-scale documentary based around their journey and untold story would be a huge deal. They’ve been talking about new music and have tracks in development right now. If all the planets align, fans could be treated to an epic 2025."

Justin's *NSYNC Chemistry

Following the reports, *NSYNC are just 1/2 to reunite with Justin next year, and all the signs appear to be there for JT re-joining the band. The group, who recorded a new song for the movie Trolls Band Together last year, joined Justin on stage during his Forget the World Tour in March, and they later released the song Paradise on his latest album, Everything I Thought I Was.

Odds On When Justin Timberlake Will Reunite With NSYNC

But JT is said to be the vital cog in a potential 30th anniversary live show and album.

The music consultant added, "Of course, Justin holds the key to it all. But there’s much optimism. This isn’t a money grab, but a nod from the group to what they achieved and how much they appreciate their fans."

Before Justin and *NSYNC's March performance, the group hadn't performed on stage together since reuniting when JT won the Video Vanguard Award at the 2013 MTV Video Music Awards. In 2018, they appeared publicly together to receive their star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, but fans had to wait until the 2023 MTV VMAs to see them reunite in public again when they joined forces to present the best pop prize to Taylor Swift.

Justin admitted afterwards that the "chemistry" is still very much there with the group. During an appearance on The Kelly Clarkson Show, he said, "That was fun. It’s kind of crazy, like, there’s so much that just picks up right where it left off as far as the chemistry."

*NSYNC Fans' Long Wait For Chart Success

With the chemistry apparently still there, that bodes well for a potential new *NSYNC album. During their heyday, the pop group had two number-one albums on the Billboard 200 chart. No Strings Attached spent eight weeks as the top LP in 2000, and they bowed out in style as their fourth and final studio album, Celebrity, was number one for just a week in 2001.

Will NSYNC Comeback Album Reach Number 1 In The Billboard 200 Chart

Incredibly, the band has only ever had one number one single on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, after It's Gonna Be Me spent two weeks at the summit in 2000. But they have managed six top 10 hits, with the likes of This I Promise You and Girlfriend both reaching number five, while Bye Bye Bye made it to four, and Music Of My Heart hit the dizzy heights of number two in 1999.

More recently, Bye Bye Bye hit number 18 on the Billboard Global 200 chart just weeks ago.

The song has resurfaced after featuring in Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's new movie Deadpool & Wolverine.

If this is anything to go by, the 8/15 on *NSYNC's comeback album—if it comes to fruition—reaching number one in the Billboard 200 chart could be about right. *NSYNC super-fans have been waiting 23 years for a new album with Justin, and even if it isn't the greatest musically, there will be plenty of intrigue streams and downloads for sure.

Justin's Timely Reunion

While *NSYNC only ever topped the Billboard Hot 100 chart once, Justin has amassed five number one singles—including SexyBack and Give It To Me—and a staggering 19 top 10 hits after going solo. He also has four number one albums to his name, with only 2002's Justified, which reached number two, and his latest effort, the sixth studio album Everything I Thought It Was, missing out on top spot.

Odds On Justin Timberlake Having A Solo Number 1 Again On The Billboard Hot 100 Chart

However, Justin's potential *NSYNC reunion could come at a good time for his career. While he has achieved solo success in abundance, his latest two singles haven't been his best in terms of chart success. Selfish peaked at 19 on the Billboard Hot 100, while No Angels didn't make it into the Billboard Hot 100 but peaked at number 19 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart.

Justin is just 4/7 to go without a solo number one again, but if the *NSYNC reunion happens and goes well, it could potentially spark his solo career back into the heights he was achieving in the mid-2000s.

While *NSYNC are known for one of their top tunes, Bye Bye Bye, it certainly looks like fans could be saying "hello" again very soon.
