Odds On How Many Emmy Awards 'The Bear' Will Win And Will There Be A 4th Season?

The Bear has been one of the TV hits of the decade ever since it hit our screens in 2022.

Later this week, fans will be treated to a third season of the programme when it drops on June 27th, and there is every indication it will perform just as well as the first two series.

The FX on Hulu and Disney+ show has amassed an incredible 99 percent Rotten Tomatoes rating from critics, and 93 per cent from audiences, since it was served up to us a couple of years ago, and it has been a role of a lifetime for leading man Jeremy Allen White, and leading lady Ayo Edebiri.

The show sees White portray world-renowned chef Carmen "Carmy" Berzatto, who inherits his late brother's Chicago beef sandwich shop after his sibling took his own life, while Edebiri portrays talented young chef Sydney Adamu.

The Bear scooped 10 Emmys earlier this year, and still holds the records for Most Wins For A Series For Its First Season, Most Wins For A Comedy Series For Its First Season, and Most Wins For A Comedy Series In A Single Year.

But with another Emmys ceremony just a few months away in September, and a third season of The Bear on the way for us to get our teeth stuck into, we've taken a look at how the programme might perform.

Double Figures for the Bear?

The Bear won six Primetime Emmy Awards in January this year, and a further four Creative Arts Emmys just days earlier.

While The Bear season two was honoured at the 2024 Golden Globes for its second season, which aired in 2023, the programme was only awarded Emmys for its first series, which dropped in 2022.

That is because the 75th Emmys was delayed from September 2023 to January 2024, due to the Hollywood writers' strikes, which meant that ceremony only recognised shows that aired between June 2022 and May 2023.

The 76th Emmy Awards will take place in September and cover programming presented between June 1, 2023, and May 31, 2024, meaning The Bear's second season will get its time to shine on the Emmys stage.

Odds On How Many Awards The Bear Will Win At 76th Emmy Awards

Speculation has been rife about how well the second season might do, following its success at the Golden Globes.

The Bear season two scooped three accolades at this year's Golden Globes for Best Television Series—Musical or Comedy—and White and Edebiri landed the Best Actor and Best Actress in a Television Series—Musical or Comedy, respectively.

Nominations for September's 76th Emmy Awards will be announced on July 17th, but until then, critics have been making their predictions about who might win what, and The Bear has been heavily mentioned in a positive light.

Variety's Awards Circuit recently predicted The Bear could receive as many as 24 nominations, with no less than 11 Emmy wins, and Scott Feinberg, The Hollywood Reporter’s executive editor of awards coverage, has tipped the show in several categories.
He expects The Bear to be a frontrunner for this year's Best Comedy Series at the Primetime Emmys, with White once again coming out on top in the Best Actor in a Comedy Series category.

Odds On Jeremy Allen White Winning Outstanding Lead Actor In A Comedy Series Prize At 76th Emmy Awards

The market is also quite positive for The Bear. It is just 8/11 that the show wins 10 or more Emmy Awards later this year, at least matching the 10 it won earlier this year.

What's more, it's 11/8 for The Bear to land between seven and 10 accolades at the Emmys, and a massive 20/1 that it finishes the night with zero, which is simply unthinkable.

All White On The Night

Former Shameless actor White has had to get used to preparing speeches and walking on stage to accept numerous accolades since he landed the role of Carmy.

As well as his Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy, White also scooped Best Actor in a Comedy series at the Critics Choice Awards in 2023 and 2024 for the role, as well as two Golden Globes, two People's Choice Awards, and three Screen Actors Guild Awards.

While he could face stiff competition from the likes of Only Murders in the Building pair Martin Short and Steve Martin, as well as Kelsey Grammer, and Larry David, The Bear's White is just 1/2 to scoop the Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series Prize at the upcoming 76th Emmy Awards in September, and 2/1 to miss out.

Odds On Ayo Edebiri Winning Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series Prize At 76th Emmy Awards

Edebiri started life being nominated in supporting actress categories for The Bear, but she was upgraded to lead actress nods for season two.

Edebiri will also face stiff competition in a bid to land the Lead Actress gong at the upcoming Emmys, with the likes of Quinta Brunson (Abbott Elementary), Loot's Maya Rudolph, Kristen Wiig (Palm Royale), and Hacks' Jean Smart all likely to be in contention.

She is 6/4 to land the prize, but 4/6 to miss out, and early indications are that Smart might pip her to the post.

FX Cooking Up More Bear?

While we are yet to see what season three of The Bear looks like, it seems extremely likely that we could be talking about a fourth series this time next year.

Odds On The Bear Season 4 Happening

In May, sources told Variety that FX were already keen to serve up a fourth season of the hit show, but it's not known whether it might be the last one.

What's more, it was also reported by Deadline that season four of The Bear was looking likely and could shoot back in Chicago, but FX are yet to confirm such speculation.

Despite this, it is 1/3 that The Bear season four sees the light of day.

In the meantime, we can't wait to tuck into season three!
