Las Vegas casinos are the world’s ultimate destination for gambling. Whether you’re sipping margaritas by the pool at the Cosmopolitan, or slumming it up the Strip in Circus Circus (no offense), you’re guaranteed a good time.
Las Vegas emerged as a small stopover town for trains back in 1905, and overground gambling started up almost immediately - legal gambling was still banned in the state until 1931.
By 1970, Vegas had turned into one of the most alluring cities in the world, and as the years passed, it morphed into the spectacle we know and love today - adorned with neon signs, slots, glittering showgirls, and, of course, some of the most luxurious resorts in the world.
The Nevada Gaming Control Board defines a casino as an establishment that has at least 15 slot machines, and by those standards, there are about 150 casinos in Las Vegas, spread across the Strip, the Fremont Street district, and more residential areas like Summerlin.
In 2023, revenue just from casino locations on the Strip stood at $8.9 billion, up 7.4% from the previous year. The industry is clearly a huge economic contributor, employing over 386,000 people across the state of Nevada.
Our akfxoqsd.shop team went off to try to find out which are the most luxurious casinos in Vegas. Unfortunately, we didn’t exactly have the budget to send them on an all-expenses-paid “work trip” to test the level of luxury in each casino, so they had to make do with checking out TripAdvisor.
We looked for words like "luxury," "magnificent," and “comfortable” in the reviews. If you’ve ever been to Vegas, you’ll know that basically every second building is a casino, so unfortunately we couldn’t look at every single one; otherwise, we’d be here for several days.
So these are the casinos we chose to analyze as part of our review:
We’re sure you’ll have some different opinions on this if you’ve ever been to Vegas, but South Point Hotel and Casino, which is located about 15 minutes south of the centre of the Strip, emerged in the top place with 22.44%.
102 people called it "fancy," and 75 mentioned "luxury.”
One review said, “Close to the south end of the strip, this is not the newest mega-complex hotel/casino but still an impressive complex with all of the amenities.”
Second on the list wasn’t the Cosmopolitan or the Bellagio, but rather Tuscany Suites, which got 22.04% on the Luxury Scale.
This one is pretty close to the Strip and has 716 suite rooms, and four different dining options. 48 people used the word “luxury” in their reviews, and 958 out of about 4,600 said it was "comfortable.”
It seems to be a popular option for people wanting to avoid some of the hustle and bustle of the Strip.
As one person said, “If you want to avoid the craziness of strip hotels yet have all your needs taken care of, the Tuscany Suites is the place for you. Yet, the epicentre of the Strip is just a ten-minute walk away, should you wish to indulge.”
In third place, we have The Orleans, with 21.34%, another off-strip option that’s about 1.6 miles away from all the action.
"Pleasure," "delightful," and “impressive” all came up many times, with one saying, “Try to get a view of the Strip. It has a magnificent view of the mountains and the city.” Yep, we think that sounds pretty luxurious.
We’re not hugely surprised to see that Circus Circus Hotel & Casino Las Vegas ranked right at the bottom of our list, with 4.58% on the Luxury Scale. Out of more than 14,000 reviews, not one single person used the word "luxurious.”
One review sums it up rather well “Dumpy and needs to be torn down.” Ah well, they’ll most likely be imploding the Mirage and Tropicana soon, maybe they can take down Circus Circus at the same time.
MGM Grand didn’t do too well either, it got 5.99%, and only one (one!) out of 46,000 people used the word “luxurious”.
That review, from April this year, said, “From the moment I stepped into the iconic MGM Grand Las Vegas, I was swept into a world of unparalleled entertainment, luxurious accommodations, and attentive service.” Hmm, we’re not quite sure about that.
akfxoqsd.shop utilized Tripadvisor reviews to do an in-depth analysis of phrases associated with luxury to determine the most luxurious casinos in Las Vegas. We calculated the percentage of luxury-rated mentions in the total Tripadvisor reviews.
