Football season is here! Las Vegas sportsbooks will be packed with fans, fantasy players, and parlay bettors. The combination creates an intoxicating energy that is unmatched elsewhere in a casino.

With sportsbooks sure to be bursting at the seams on Saturdays and Sundays for the next few months, some casinos put in a serious effort to upgrade their retail sports betting product.

Whether it be new screens, new seating, or better food and beverage offerings, here are eight Las Vegas sportsbooks that are either new or upgraded significantly in the past year:

Fontainebleau - The Tavern

Fontainebleau sportsbook

Fontainebleau opened midway through the NFL season last year to some quick controversy over the quality of its nachos. The newest casino-resort on the Strip offers something different than the traditional rows of chairs. The Tavern is a sports book-bar-restaurant combo.

Visitors enter through the dining room and should look for "The Tavern" sign as the sportsbook is somewhat hidden in the back. But there the room opens up to a wagering area that seats about 100, where customers can watch the games and monitor their bets on large sportsbook screens. They also can eat and drink there, where bettors can expect significantly upgraded nachos.

Suncoast

Suncoast sportsbook

The Suncoast in Summerlin is in the middle of a multi-year renovation that will be finished by 2026. The newest upgrade is a beautiful multi-level sportsbook that replaces a showroom lounge that will move upstairs.

These upgrades take an old sportsbook in the corner of the casino to a destination sportsbook with one of the largest video walls in Las Vegas. There are more than 25 video poker machines and a variety of seating options including couches for large parties.

Durango

Durango sportsbook

Like Fontainebleau, Durango Casino opened during the NFL season last year. This off-Strip destination combines a traditional sportsbook area with an indoor/outdoor sports bar-restaurant and one of the most modern gaming bars in Las Vegas.

The mix of modern and traditional sportsbook spaces makes the Durango sportsbook unique. This is a destination sportsbook for visitors looking for something different away from the Vegas Strip.

Guests can watch the game in lounge chairs on a traditional video wall. They can grab a bite at the attached sports bar and restaurant and watch the games on those screens. The George restaurant space extends outdoors for those who want an al fresco viewing experience. The bar just outside of both spaces features a double-sided video screen for watching the games.

Paris Las Vegas

Paris sportsbook

Paris opened an entirely renovated sportsbook earlier this year. The 3,000-square-foot space has new seating areas and much-improved video screens. The new environment is much more welcoming than its dark predecessor.

This is a somewhat important sportsbook for Caesars Rewards members because it sits between two casinos with less-than-stellar sports viewing options.

Horseshoe Las Vegas is connected to Paris and no longer has a physical sportsbook. There's a sports betting counter in the walkway heading towards Paris.

The neighboring Caesars sportsbook at Planet Hollywood could use a similar refresh. The company doesn’t have a plan for that yet. Earlier this year a rep from Caesars Sports told me plans for Planet Hollywood are TBD.

Palace Station

Palace Station sportsbook

Palace Station is just west of the Vegas Strip on Sahara. Station Casinos continues to tweak a major renovation of the sportsbook a few years ago.

In addition to new seating configurations, there’s a new Center Wall with two 136" screens for sports bettors as well as a new Race Wall with new LED screens for a 425.7” display.

Circa Sportsbook at Silverton

Silverton sportsbook

Earlier this year, Circa Sports took over operation of the Silverton sportsbook. The sportsbook operator built a new sportsbook in the casino a couple of miles south of Mandalay Bay.

This is not Circa Resort South. The small 1,600 square-foot sportsbook has new video screens and seating for less than 100 people between the bar and different chairs.

The Silverton is a unique locals casino with an aquarium on the casino floor. The fair odds and high wagering limits are a good excuse to check out this gem of a casino.

Sunset Station

Sunset Station sportsbook

In addition to building new casinos like Durango, Station Casinos has been on an upgrade spree over the past few years. Sunset Station in Henderson was the recipient of some of those upgrades earlier this year.

Sunset Station's new sportsbook is similar but larger than the traditional section of Durang. This sportsbook has a huge 152-foot LED wall that can show up to 30 games at once.

Circa Resort & Casino

Circa sportsbook

One way to stay on top is to make upgrades before anyone will notice. That’s what happened over the summer.

Circa boasts that it’s the largest sportsbook not just in Las Vegas, but the entire world. The multi-level sportsbook with massive screens that can be seen from three levels of the main casino floors is also one of the most popular, and there’s a reason bettors were flocking to make their Circa Survivor and Millions picks.

Circa quietly updated the massive video screen. The subtle changes may not be noticeable to most guests since the specs are the same, but if you get the sense that something is different, that’s why.
