Wednesday Opening for Southern Florida’s Little Trail Casino

Following approximately six months of construction, the Miccosukee Tribe of Indians is to open its Little Trail Casino in the southern Florida community of Ochopee on the morning of February 14.

The federally-recognized tribe revealed the coming 8,500 sq ft non-smoking new casino facility will sit on its own reservation next door to the Miccosukee Service Plaza, which is located along Interstate 75 about halfway between the Florida cities of Fort Lauderdale and Naples, and feature approximately 150 slots as well as a fully-stocked bar.

Appealing Addition

The Chairman for the Miccosukee Tribe, Talbert Cypress, explained his tribe’s Miccosukee Service Plaza is the sole rest stop along an 80-mile stretch of Interstate 75 affectionately known as ‘Alligator Alley’. He detailed the property located within the heart of the federally-protected Big Cypress National Preserve already includes a fuel station, a dozen car-charging ports, a small convenience store, and a pair of food outlets.

Existing Enterprise

The Miccosukee Tribe of Indians is one of only two federally recognized tribes in ‘The Sunshine State’ and is already responsible for the 302-room Miccosukee Casino and Resort. This nine-story facility situated on the western outskirts of Miami opened 25 years ago and comes complete with high-stakes gaming and bingo rooms alongside a 70,000 sq ft casino hosting a collection of some 2,000 slots and a 20-table poker lounge.

Festive Fling

Cypress disclosed his tribe’s coming Little Trail Casino was designed by architectural firm CPH and built by local company 2 Brothers Contracting LLC. He asserted the fresh enterprise is to be officially opened this Wednesday at 11 am via a special ribbon-cutting ceremony compete with ‘light hors d’oeuvres’, an arts and crafts event, and ‘presentations by the Miccosukee Tribal Business Council and casino executives’.

“We are excited to celebrate this significant milestone alongside our tribal members and numerous key stakeholders who have played a crucial role in our journey,” Cypress said. “This marks an exhilarating start to our next phase and we can’t wait to welcome everyone to this unique experience.”
