Rivers Casino Pittsburgh Rivers Gives team is set to once again partner with WTAE-TV's Project Bundle Up, a vital annual initiative dedicated to assisting those in need during the chilly winter months in Pennsylvania.

This collaborative effort, led by the Salvation Army Western Pennsylvania Division and WTAE, aims to provide essential winter outerwear for local children and senior citizens from low-income households who are facing financial challenges.

On Wednesday, October 23rd, a group of children and seniors participating in Project Bundle-Up will be matched with dedicated shopping partners from the Rivers Gives team. The volunteers will accompany the beneficiaries as they select brand-new winter gear during a special shopping trip at Walmart.

Making a Difference in Lives of Community

Dr. Rahmon Hart, the Director of Community Relations at Rivers Casino Pittsburgh, stated, "Participating in Project Bundle-Up is a fantastic opportunity for our team to make a difference in the lives of community members who may be struggling or facing financial hardship.

“It's a joyful experience for both the volunteers and the beneficiaries as we come together to provide comfort during the winter season." added Hart.

Victoria Gill, the Director of WTAE-TV’s Project Bundle-Up, echoed Dr. Hart's sentiments, highlighting the importance of this initiative. "As is our tradition, we’re making sure that Pittsburghers in need have the necessary clothing to stay warm and safe this winter.

“Thanks to Rivers Gives, we’re providing another year of support during the upcoming season, which can be a challenging time of year for many."

Staff Encouraged to Step Away from Gaming Floor

This partnership exemplifies Rivers Casino Pittsburgh's long-standing commitment to philanthropy and community service through its Rivers Gives program. The program encourages casino staff to engage with local nonprofits, inviting them to step away from the gaming floor to volunteer their time and skills for worthy causes.

Just last month, Rivers Gives volunteers enhanced the facilities at Veterans Place of Washington Boulevard.

Most of my career was spent in teaching including at one of the UK’s top private schools. I left London in 2000 and set up home in Wales raising four beautiful children. I enrolled at University where I studied Photography and film and gained a Degree and subsequently a Masters Degree. In 2014 I helped launch a new local newspaper and managed to get front and back page as well as 6 filler pages on a weekly basis. I saw that journalism was changing and was a pioneer of hyperlocal news in Wales. In 2017 I started one of the first 24/7 free independent news sites for Wales. Having taken that to a successful business model I was keen for a new challenge. Joining the company is exciting for me especially as it is a new role in Europe. I am keen to establish myself and help others to do the same.
