Rush Street Interactive, a popular social gaming developer and operator, announced a partnership with Gun Lake Casino in Michigan. The brick-and-mortar casino will be using Rush Street Interactive’s social gaming platform CASINO4FUN to provide a free-to-play online gambling experience, from slots to sports betting.
One of Rush Street Interactive’s most popular creations is its social casino platform, CASINO4FUN. In reaching a partnership with the Gun Lake Casino in Michigan, it’ll now launch a CASINO4FUN site for the casino, which is a play-for-free site where customers can come and play games without having to use real money.
What that means is visitors of the website will be able to play a large variety of casino games and a sportsbook where customers can place bets for free. However, in racking up time on the site and playing the games, they’ll be able to earn real prizes.
Although it doesn’t cost the consumer anything to play, the system allows Gun Lake to maintain a connection with customers even when they’re not on the property. It also grooms the player to go through the motions of placing bets, which is likely to entice them to visit the brick-and-mortar location to play casinos for real money.
And if that isn’t enough to lure them in, the prizing likely will. Gun Lake will offer a slew of incentives for those who spend time on the site and win. All of the prizes like free slot plays, dining freebies and virtual credits all require the customer to visit the property to redeem.
Even though it’s a play-for-free website, there are regulations. All CASINO4FUN players must be at least 21 years old and they’ll have to verify that through the site.
As of this moment, this is all a play-for-free website. But RSI does operate both free and real-money websites. PlaySugarHouse.com was its first casino site in New Jersey and it operates a couple of online gambling sites in Pennsylvania with PlaySugarHouse.com and BetRivers.com.
So that raises the question as to whether or not this could eventually pave the way for the Gun Lake Casino to offer online casino gambling and/or sports betting.
As of right now, there’s no plan to legalize online gambling or sports betting in the state. Republican state representative Brandt Iden is one of the leading voices of legalizing sports betting and gaming in the state, but, speaking with The Detroit News, he doesn’t see anything happening before the Super Bowl in 2020.
At any rate, if the state does legalize wagering on sports, Gun Lake Casino will be ready to switch things over from play-for-free to play-for-money fairly quickly, if inclined to do so.
