River Spirit Casino in Tulsa to Add Upscale Sports Bar

In the American state of Oklahoma, the Muscogee Nation has unveiled plans to bring a 157-seat sports bar featuring an expansive private viewing space to its land-based casino, River Spirit Casino Resort.

The Gridiron Sports Bar addition forms part of the federally-recognized tribe’s latest $17.5 million renovation of the Tulsa County venue and is scheduled to open in July so as to allow patrons to watch all of the action from the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.

Substantial Supplement

The Principal Chief for the Muscogee Nation, David Hill, told local television broadcaster KOKH-TV that the coming Gridiron Sports Bar will occupy the 14,000 sq ft once home to the 483-room gambling property’s Visions Buffet restaurant and feature ‘the largest sports viewing experience in Oklahoma’.

“River Spirit Casino Resort is undoubtedly Tulsa’s premier entertainment destination,” Hill said. “The addition of the Gridiron Sports Bar will continue our commitment to bringing exceptional entertainment experiences to our visitors while elevating the guest experience to one that you cannot find anywhere else.”

Prominent Presence

Premiered in 2009, River Spirit Casino Resort sits along the banks of the Arkansas River some nine miles south of downtown Tulsa with its 200,000 sq ft casino hosting a collection of approximately 39 gaming tables alongside more than 3,100 slots. The 27-story facility is one of nine such enterprises owned by the Muscogee Nation across Oklahoma and furthermore houses a 30,000 sq ft convention space and a 2,500-seat live events hall together with several shops and restaurants.

Elevated Expectations

Pat Crofts, Chief Executive Officer for Muscogee Nation Gaming Enterprises, told Tulsa World that the coming Gridiron Sports Bar is to feature a 53-ft by 14-ft high-resolution LED video wall and a 27-seat central counter with bar-top gaming terminals and two dozen 70-inch televisions.

He asserted all of this will be complemented by a new kitchen offering a full food service menu plus a pair of reservable digital bays with Top Golf Swing Suites for simulated golf and other sports.

Crofts declared the audio and video technology going into the new Gridiron Sports Bar cost approximately $1.6 million and is to create a ‘game-watching and audio experience like none other’. He finished by explaining all of this is to be topped off by the debut of a 100-seat private viewing space featuring its own bar, toilets, lounge and 21-ft by 12-ft LED video wall.

“It's going to be spectacular,” Crofts said. “Gridiron Sports Bar represents a significant capital investment and creates a new standard in dynamic spaces where sports enthusiasts can revel in the excitement of their favorite teams while enjoying top-notch amenities and hospitality services.”
