A Visiting Fan’s Guide to Vegas Golden Knights Games at T-Mobile Arena

T-Mobile Arena is home to the Vegas Golden Knights and hosts sporting events and numerous touring concerts throughout the year. The arena is a couple hundred steps behind the New York-New York casino on the Vegas Strip, and within a 10-minute walk from five other casino-resorts.

The Golden Knights have a large local home fan base that shows up for most games. That changes when the team plays against those from larger markets around North America.

Visiting fans can occupy nearly half of the seats at T-Mobile Arena when their team makes the trip to play the Golden Knights. (Visitor dominance for hockey isn’t as large as when visiting teams play the Raiders at Allegiant Stadium, however.)

Official attendance data isn’t available since the Las Vegas Stadium Authority (LVSA) doesn’t oversee T-Mobile Arena. The venue is owned and operated by MGM Resorts and AEG.

Between the in-game production and nearby attractions, going to a Vegas Golden Knights game is unlike seeing any other NHL team. Imagine the most fun hockey game with the flair of Las Vegas shows.

Here’s a guide to getting the most out of your visit to Las Vegas when T-Mobile is your priority destination.

Hotels and Casinos Closest to T-Mobile Arena

Getting to T-Mobile is easy. It’s a quick walk from five casinos and six hotels.

The venue is about 200 steps from New York-New York and Park MGM casinos. Both of these properties are feeders to the arena for those walking from other nearby casinos.

AriaExcalibur, and MGM Grand are about 10 minutes away by foot. Add another minute or two for anyone staying at the non-gaming hotel Vdara next to Aria.

Getting to T-Mobile Arena

T-Mobile Arena has a mode of transportation list with the best routes to the venue and how long it will take to walk, drive or arrive by monorail.

Monorail

Most visitors find getting to the arena easiest by foot, as it’s a short walk from several casinos. The Las Vegas Monorail and two monorails at connected hotels are convenient.

Bellagio is connected to Aria and Park MGM via monorail. Similarly, Luxor and Mandalay Bay are connected to Excalibur by monorail.

Casinos on the east side of the Vegas Strip can reach MGM Grand by the Las Vegas Monorail. The monorail stops at WestgateSaharaHarrah’sFlamingo, and Horseshoe/Paris on the way to MGM Grand where guests will cross the street to T-Mobile Arena. It could take up to 30 minutes to get to T-Mobile Arena from the northernmost monorail stops so prepare accordingly.

Parking

The easiest place to park for sporting events and concerts at T-Mobile Arena is the nearby casino parking garages. Rates vary by location, but usually range between $20 and $40 on game days.  The closest garages at New York-New York and Park MGM are typically $30 or $35, with Excalibur being the cheapest at $20 and Aria the most expensive at $40.

These are the most in-demand garages so parking may sell out before gametime. But parking passes for Golden Knights games are available online for purchase in advance.

Locals Tip: Park for free at Oyo (short-term, not overnight) if the weather’s nice and you don’t mind getting in some extra steps.

Rideshare

The T-Mobile Arena drop-off location can be accessed through the ground level of the New York-New York parking garage. This area might be busy with vehicles exiting the arena after an event so getting a ride elsewhere might be easiest.

The nearby casinos are sometimes the quickest rideshare pickup and dropoff points since they’re more easily accessible. Surge pricing usually takes effect after a game (or concert).

Anyone who is price-sensitive might want to spend some time in a nearby casino before ordering a rideshare to wait for prices to go down. Walking to a casino a little further away from the arena might also help reduce the rideshare prices.

Buses

Taking a bus to the arena is probably the most cost-effective way for anyone to get to an event at T-Mobile Arena from off-strip casinos. A roundtrip ticket for the RTC Gameday Express for Golden Knight games is only $4 and parking at each casino is free.

Participating casinos for the Gameday Express are:

  • Red Rock Casino
  • Green Valley Ranch
  • Sam’s Town
  • Santa Fe Station
  • Aliante Casino
  • M Resort

The pickup and dropoff for T-Mobile Arena is across the street at the Excalibur oversize lot on the corner of Frank Sinatra and Excalibur Way, so you still have about a 12-minute walk ahead of you with this option.

Sports Betting at T-Mobile Arena

Despite its Vegas Strip location T-Mobile Arena is not a casino and does not have a sportsbook on premises. But visitors can wager on the game at any nearby casino or via mobile device.

New York-New York and Park MGM have the closest sportsbooks to the arena for any last-minute bettors.

Anyone who opens a new mobile sports betting account to make bets inside the arena will have to set it up in person at a retail casino sportsbook. The process is an ongoing Nevada annoyance that takes about 10-15 minutes. But once established, you can fund your account at a betting kiosk or via mobile phone.

The BetMGM app now has a single wallet feature. That means anyone with a BetMGM account from another state can use their same app in Las Vegas -- but you will still have to set up a Nevada account in person at an MGM property.

Where to Eat and Drink Before and After Events at T-Mobile Arena

The District at T-Mobile Arena includes The Park and Toshiba Plaza. The Park is somewhat an extension of the New York-New York casino since many of the restaurants are built outside of the casino.

The Park offers both indoor and outdoor dining at all price points:

  • Beerhaus
  • Shake Shack
  • Hello Kitty Cafe (Coffee and sweets)
  • Luke's Lobster
  • Top Round
  • Tom's Watch Bar
  • Nusr-Et (Steakhouse)

This is a great place to hang out before Golden Knights games. Since there’s ample space outdoors, visitors can eat and drink in the beautiful Las Vegas weather if they choose. Fans from both teams take over the bars and there’s plenty of hockey talk. The atmosphere is electrifying!

New York-New York has another dozen restaurants including The Village. Park MGM has a handful of restaurants plus the Eataly food hall and Side Betty Grill connected to the sportsbook.
