Odds On Who Will Host I'm A Celebrity Extra Camp

The new series of I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! isn't far away, and the show's fans were recently given an early Christmas present with the news that spin-off series Extra Camp is to return.

The companion show first started in 2002 on ITV2, when it was known as Get Me Out of Here! Now!, and it ran for 15 series before being renamed Extra Camp in 2016. Extra Camp ran for four series, and in 2020 a new I'm A Celebrity sister series, The Daily Drop, replaced it on ITV Hub, fronted by Vick Hope. However, this year Extra Camp is returning and it will be back on its original ITV2 home.

A source told The Sun on Sunday newspaper: "There is a huge buzz around I’m A Celeb this year and everyone wants the mischief of Extra Camp to return as well."

But who will host the show?

Short Price Sam

During Extra Camp's four series, the show always had more than one presenter, and that is expected to carry on when the programme returns.

The source added: "It is believed that there will be a different show name as it makes a comeback with lots of names in the mix to host. And it looks like there will be a few presenters as well to add to the fun of the show."

One man who is no doubt at the top of ITV's wish list is last year's I'm A Celebrity winner, Sam Thompson. The former Made in Chelsea star was a buzz of positive energy throughout his time in series 23 and he eased to the King of the Jungle title, followed by his campmate and new BFF Tony Bellew, who finished runner-up.

The pair made great TV late last year, so it would make sense for ITV bosses to reunite their partnership on Extra Camp. Sam is the short-priced 1/3 favourite to be the first star confirmed to front the new-look show, while former professional boxer Tony is a 13/8 chance.

Marvin Humes (4/1) is also no stranger to TV presenting, and he and Sam had plenty of chemistry in last year's I'm A Celebrity series. Josie Gibson narrowly missed out on a podium place in series 23 after Sam, Tony, and politician Nigel Farage somehow filled the top three spots. But the This Morning presenter could be back in Australia later this year.

She is 5/6 to co-host Extra Camp, and her good friend and fellow This Morning host Alison Hammond is 5/2. What's more, Sam's Hits Radio co-host and former I'm A Celebrity star Fleur East is an Evens chance.

Loose Ladies Down Under

Loose Women stars have been regular fixtures in I'm A Celebrity camps over the years, and they could also be in contention to front Extra Camp. Olivia Attwood had a short-lived stint in the jungle in 2022, which ended early due to a health issue.

However, the former Love Island star recently admitted she has 'unfinished business' in Oz, which could've been a hint that she is in consideration to be one of the new Extra Camp presenters.

Olivia is just 4/7 to land the job, while new Loose Women panellist GK Barry is a 2/1 chance. GK looks likely to rock up in Australia in some form this year, as she is also a short price to take part in the regular I'm A Celebrity series. If that comes to fruition, she could be in the running to front Extra Camp next year.

But if a Loose Women star doesn't make the presenting line-up, then how about a Loose Men panellist?

Joe Swash has plenty of previous experience on the I'm A Celebrity companion show. He hosted Get Me Out of Here! Now! alongside the late Caroline Flack from series nine to 10, before he and Laura Whitmore joined forces for series 11 to 15. He stuck around when the programme was rebranded as Extra Camp and co-hosted series 16 with Vicky Pattison and his wife, Stacey Solomon, as well as comedian Chris Ramsey.

Joe and former Queen of the Jungle Scarlett Moffatt then fronted seasons 17 and 18 with resident comedian Joel Dommett, who was runner-up to Scarlett in I'm A Celebrity series 16.

If ITV bosses are looking for an experienced pair of Extra Camp hands, then Joe's 10 seasons presenting an I'm A Celebrity sister show cannot be beaten. He is 9/2 to return to the show, while Stacey is a 17/2 chance.

Atack To Go Back?

While ITV is likely to try to take the show in a new direction, several other former Extra Camp stars could be in the conversation about potentially returning to the programme.

Actress and comedian Emily Atack co-hosted the show alongside former Emmerdale star Adam Thomas in 2019, and the pair are 3/1 and 9/1, respectively, to head back to Oz for another go. What's more, Vick is 7/1 to head out to Australia and pick up where she left off in 2020 with The Daily Drop.

Joel was the resident comedian on Extra Camp for three series, and his TV presenting career has been a huge success since. He now hosts The Masked Singer and The Masked Dancer as well as the National Television Awards, so he may not have time for another gig so far away from home.

Joel is 12/1 to return to the show, while fellow comedian Chris is 16/1.
