Potions, witchcraft, and magic are always fun ideas for a slot game. Greentube’s Manic Potions slot is proof of it. There’s just so much space to come up with innovative potion ideas like in this slot that makes witch-themed slot games so exciting.
The action occurs on a 5x4 grid with 1,024 default ways to win. However, those can go up with various features that not only expand the playing area but tune up the excitement, too. The Manic Potions online slot has a medium volatile math model, meaning you’re in for varied wins. I’ll cover the hit rate and volatility from my perspective later, but for now, I suggest being cautious with your bets.
In addition to the regular symbols, you can also expect wilds as well as lock and spin scatters. They trigger the slot’s all-important feature – the Lock & Spin round – where you can drink the magical potions and hit the highest wins. If witchcraft, alchemy, and mystery potions are your forte, read my Manic Potions review below and give it a spin at the top casinos with Greentube slots.
The Manic Potions online slot is all about potions and magic. The slot is set in some kind of alchemy lab, with dim light passing through the windows. Greentube did a perfect job of catching the mysterious atmosphere perfectly, and the candles in the low right corner of the slot add a nice touch.
Symbols include various potions and shiny glass gems in the form of card royals. The layout is easy to read on any device. You can play the slot on desktop and mobile with ease, setting your bets beneath the screen and spinning the reels from the same spot.
Manic Potions was a fun slot, in my opinion, but also a bit of a letdown.
To start playing the Manic Potions slot, you’ll need to adjust your bet first. Choose a bet from 20c to $80 per spin and click the start button on the right side. The buttons are all transparent, revealing more lab items in the background and enhancing the experience.
Winning combinations are formed for three or more matching symbols across the reels. They can be in adjacent positions since the slot has 1,024 ways to win. That’s only initially – you can expand the grid and get more winning ways later. Wild symbols can substitute for missing ones in winning combinations.
Wins involving potion symbols and wilds pay the most. A win with potions also triggers a respin with a modifier, which will keep going as long as you keep winning. There are four modifiers in total displayed on the left, each one represented by a potion. Well, five if you count the most basic modifier – a win multiplier up to x10.
The potions bring these modifiers into play:
That’s all for the base game, with a significant feature to follow.
Landing four or more scatters triggers the Lock & Spin feature. It’s a twist to the usual Hold & Win bonus round, starting with the regular three respins. This time, the action occurs on a completely new grid, where each position spins individually. The goal is to land the highest possible multipliers, which are awarded at the end of the round.
Every new multiplier resets the respins tally, and when two matching multipliers combine, they free positions for new ones. Since there are no potions involved in the bonus round, the modifiers are left out. It would be a bit of a shame if you asked me, as it would have made the Lock & Spin bonus more exciting.
Manic Potions was a fun slot, in my opinion, but also a bit of a letdown. I initially started playing it with bets of $1, hoping for a big payday so I could raise the bet a bit and go for larger payouts. It didn’t pay big until the modifiers came into play, and that – at least for me – didn’t happen that often. But I landed them twice, with the yellow and red multipliers spicing up the action and providing more than decent wins.
The bonus round took more than 60 spins to trigger, which was a lot. It was a rewarding experience, but that’s the letdown I mentioned – with only multipliers and no base game modifiers in the mix, it feels like the developer missed an opportunity there.
Manic Potions is a medium volatile slot game with an RTP of 94.51%. It’s a bit low figure for a slot of its kind. The developed doesn’t list the maximum winning potential.
Potions and magic are alive in the Manic Potions slot, but unfortunately, only in the base game. The popular Greentube slot game mostly relies on its modifiers and potions for big wins in the bonus round, which is bogged down by the lack of modifiers. Still, it should excite players of all types thanks to the expanding grid with modifiers and the Lock & Win feature.
Those looking for a bit more magic should try their luck on Perfect Potions Megaways by Light & Wonder. You may also enter the world of sweet alchemy with the eponymous slot Sweet Alchemy 100 by Play’n GO, available at the best online casinos.

There is no free spins round in the Manic Potions online slot. There’s a Lock & Spin bonus instead, which starts with three respins. The goal is to land as many multipliers as possible, which can pay big and reset the respins tally back to three.
The RTP is set to 94.51%, which is almost a couple of points lower than the average for highly volatile slots. This is because of the respins round, which can theoretically continue endlessly and, in that way, provide massive wins.
The Manic Potions slot was released on January 23, 2024.
