End-of-the-world scenarios are a popular choice for horror and sci-fi movies, and ReelPlay and Yggdrasil have combined the two for the Armageddon 10K WAYS online slot. The game invites us to watch the world crumble as a group of creatures and demons step through a portal and unleash destruction upon mankind. Fortunately for us slot players, they have been kind enough to do so while providing us with a range of bonus features and the chance to win over 10,000x your stake. Join me as I take the reels for a spin and find out more in this Armageddon 10K WAYS slot review.
The apocalyptic wasteland I described in the introduction to this Armageddon 10K WAYS review has been brought to life in a really fun way by ReelPlay. The slot’s design is great, with some sort of machinery encasing the reels, presumably created by mankind in a bid to fight off the demons. The background of the slot features a skyscraper, with a purple glow filling the skies.
I was reminded of the Relax Gaming popular Money Train series when playing the game, with the gameplay also having similarities, as I will discuss later in the review. The creature design and some of the animations are really nice, and if you’re the kind of player who likes their slots to have some backstory, this will get a big thumbs up.
The game looks great, and it pulls you in with an engaging backstory. Unfortunately, the end result is not quite as thrilling.
The action in the Armageddon 10K WAYS slot game takes place on a standard 6x4 game grid, with an additional four symbol reel sitting above the reels. As the name of the game suggests, the slot has 10,000 ways to win on every spin. All wins must start on the leftmost reel on the game grid.
Armageddon 10K also uses a cascading-wins style mechanic when players land a win. The winning symbols are removed from the grid, and new ones drop from above. This continues until no new wins are formed.
The slot’s base game has an easy-to-use interface, with a burger menu button in the corner providing the option to adjust your stake, set autoplay, and access the game’s paytable.
As I mentioned earlier in the review, the game clearly draws inspiration from Relax Gaming's Money Train series. This is apparent with its main bonus, which is a respin-style round triggered when six or more Scatter symbols land anywhere on the grid.
The Scatters remain in position, and the game rewards three respins. All that can land during the round are Scatter, Demons, Soldiers, or blanks. All Demons and Scatters display a prize.
Every time a Symbol lands, the respin count will reset to three. The Demon symbols all have lives, with the Red, Purple, Green, and Blue Demons having four, three, two, and one, respectively. Whenever a soldier lands, it collects the values of all Demon symbols in view. The Demon's values then drop by one. There are also four jackpot prizes that can be won. The Mini, Minor, Major, and Grand are worth 10x, 50x, 250x, and 2,000x your stake, respectively.
Unfortunately, there is no slots buy bonus option available in the game.
I took the Armageddon 10K WAYS slot for a spin on my iPhone and laptop and found it easy to play on both. I really enjoyed the theme and story of the slot and found that it helped immerse me into the game’s world.
Before playing for real money, I recommend testing it out using the Armageddon 10K demo we have provided in this review. The game’s controls are nicely laid out and easy to get to grips with for new players.
The slot’s betting range is $0.20-$20. While I had no problem with this budget, it may not be suitable for higher rollers.
The lack of a Buy Bonus option is a little disappointing as I would have liked to have tested the bonus round instead of having to wait to trigger it, which took quite some time due to the game’s high volatility.
Armageddon 10K WAYS has a solid math model. The game has got a 10,338x maximum win and is rated as medium/high on the volatility scale. Though the RTP sits at a good 96%, versions with lower RTP are on the best casino online market.
For me, Armageddon 10K WAYS is a slot that feels like it never quite lives up to its promise. The game looks great, and it pulls you in with an engaging backstory. Unfortunately, the end result is not quite as thrilling. The math model is solid, with a 10,000x+ maximum win, but the bonus feature feels like a rehash of bonuses available in other, better slot games.
It is not without its merits, most notably its theme and design, but ultimately, Armageddon 10K WAYS does not have enough fuel in the tank to really get fired up.
If you like the hellish landscape and terrifying future of Armageddon 10K WAYS and want bigger wins, check out the Money Train series from Relax Gaming. Money Train 4 is my personal favorite. If you want to check out more slots from ReelPlay, I would recommend Primal Hunter Gigablox and Hercules 10K WAYS.
