A trip to Las Vegas is on most people’s bucket lists. Whether you're planning your bachelor party, are about to hit a milestone birthday, or fancy getting hitched on a moment’s notice, Las Vegas is the destination for you. The City of Sin is legendary in its reputation, with millions flocking every year to party, attend the best and most exclusive sporting events, and probably most prevalently - gamble. While many have moved to play at online casinos, the appetite to play at land-based casinos haven’t disappeared.
Las Vegas Boulevard, otherwise known as the Las Vegas Strip, is one of the most famous areas on the planet. Featured in dozens of movies and littered with iconic hotels and landmarks, it’s been dubbed one of the most visited and photographed areas in the world. While numbers dropped during the global pandemic, the entertainment capital of the world has been host to 30-40 million visitors each year since 2000, according to Statista.
Vegas and casinos go hand-in-hand. They’re synonymous. And with that in mind, where better to rank the most popular casinos than the gambling capital of the US? The research team at akfxoqsd.shop has delved into the numbers to find out which casino in Las Vegas comes out on top. Don't worry, if you prefer playing at top casinos we also have that covered.
The top of the leaderboard doesn’t throw up too many surprises but more so bragging rights for fierce competitors. MGM Grand claims the number one spot with an impressive index score of 23.48. Their impressive social media tally, which blows the competition out of the water, is the main source of their popularity. Proceed with caution, however, as despite a large following their percentage of excellent Trip Advisor ratings falls well short of other top contenders.
The Bellagio, Aria Resort and Wynn Casino follow suit to complete the top four. Wynn Casino had by far the best Trip Advisor average, but unfortunately a lack of social media following pushed down their score.
Unsurprisingly, given its prominence in movies and hosting huge sporting events, the MGM Grand comes out on top for social media followers with a combined total of 1,978,000 people following them across three platforms. They dwarf the competition in this regard, with the nearest competitor coming in some 200,000 followers below them, although this should be no surprise. As well as some of history's biggest boxing and UFC events and star-studded concerts, the resort has also featured in box office hits such as Ocean’s 11, Creed II and Vegas Vacation. While most resorts in Las Vegas have been on the big screen at some point, the MGM Grand reigns supreme.
One of the premier hotels in Las Vegas, the MGM Grand boasts a world-record 6,852 rooms spanning 30 floors. With over 1700 slot games, close to 160 table games as well as a sportsbook, it truly is a gambler’s paradise.
Situated in downtown Las Vegas, the Bellagio has gained notoriety as one of the world’s best casinos. Host to the World Poker Tour, it has a 7,000-square-foot room dedicated to the popular card game. It also features its famous fountain outside that provides spectacular shows daily to Vegas revelers.
Another home to World Poker Tour events, the ARIA Casino caters to all from high-rollers to holiday gamblers and sports fans, with close to 100 screens showing live sporting events that you can bet on. It’s no wonder this luxurious casino lays claim to close to 1,500,000 followers on social media.
Wynn by name, win by nature. What was once the tallest building in all of Nevada, this casino says its lack of a thematic layout makes them stand out from the rest. Featuring a picture-esq artificial mountain outside, the 60-story tower has something for everyone, including its own golf course, the Wynn Golf Club.
Priding themselves on having one of the world’s best slot and video poker machine experiences, with complimentary lessons of craps, poker blackjack and roulette available to visitors new to the casino experience. A shopping mall - called the Grand Canal Shoppes - is on-site too to spend your winnings, as well as the exclusive TAO Nightclub.
Despite having two movies with the same name, and featuring in the 2004 hit video game Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas, Casino Royal finished bottom of the pile with a measly 4.2 index score. This can be attributed to the lowest overall social following, with just 50,000 followers total across their platforms. Casino Royale actually scored higher in the Trip Advisor rating than the three casinos featured above them and even scored slightly higher than first-placed MGM Grand.
Other notable poor performers included The Excalibur, El Cortez, Park MGM and Planet Hollywood. A lack of an official Facebook page hurt The Flamingo Casino hard, while Mandalay Bay could have climbed the leaderboards significantly had they kept an active profile on that platform with solid numbers across the board in other categories.
It should be noted that some casinos fall under the same ownership, like MGM Resorts International whose portfolio includes the Bellagio, the MGM Grand, Mandalay Bay and Park MGM. That organisation will be pleased to have scooped the top two spots overall.
The social media figures across Twitter, Facebook and Instagram for each casino were collected from their official account, where applicable. The percentage of 5* reviews from Trip Advisor was also collected. All figures were rounded down to two decimal points and allocated their place on the index table based on the highest score.
