Connecticut Online Market Adding Bragg Gaming Options Via DraftKings

The Connecticut online gaming market is gaining some more options for players thanks to a deal struck by the Mashantucket-Pequot Tribe and the Bragg Gaming Group. The company’s Spin Games online casino products marks a new entry in the state.

Bragg Gaming was founded in 2018 and completed its acquisition of Spin Games in June.

Players at the DraftKings Casino app in The Nutmeg State can play Spin Games RGS (remote game server) offerings including Ripley's Big Wheel and Galaxy Gaming’s 21 + 3 Progressive Blackjack. Those titles join Bragg’s Triple Jewels, Gypsy Riches and Get Hot.

“We are delighted to enter a new, regulated iGaming market in the U.S. so quickly following our acquisition of Spin Games,” Yaniv Sherman, who was named Bragg Gaming CEO last month, said in a company release. “Spin Games is already well-established in the North American market and provides Bragg with a unique platform which we plan to leverage to further expand with our brands in the region.”

Bragg Gaming’s Reach Is Spreading

Bragg Gaming products are now available in four of the six states where legal, regulated real money online gaming is available in the U.S. market. Connecticut joins Michigan, Pennsylvania and New Jersey as states where Spin Games options are available.

Bragg also recently received approval to join the online gaming market in Ontario, which this year became the first Canadian province with both legal online sports betting and iGaming.

“Following our entry into the Ontario iGaming market three months ago, our entry into Connecticut is another important proof point of our North American growth strategy, which will continue to accelerate as we debut our offerings in additional states as they enact regulations,” Sherman said.

According to the release, Bragg plans to roll out more games, adding to the 11 currently available in Connecticut.

Bragg also has obtained licenses to operate in several Euroean countries, including the UK, and in the Bahamas.

Connecticut Online Casino Market Snapshot

The Connecticut online gaming market launched in October 2021 and has produced steady numbers. The state also began taking legal sports wagers at the same time.

In May, the online casino handle in Connecticut was just over $774 million, a 1.8% increase compared to April ($760.56 million). The majority of that handle, nearly $500 million, was wagered via the Mashantucket-Pequot app (MPI Master Wagering).

But the total taxable gaming revenue in May was $16.58 million, down 10.2% from April’s $18.5 million, according to figures posted by the State Department of Consumer Protection.
