The West Virginia online gaming options keep growing.
Wizard Games, an Aspire Global brand, now offers games such as Dragons of the North and Rumble Rhino via the BetMGM iGaming platform in the Mountaineer State.
“Launching our content with BetMGM in West Virginia is an important step in our journey stateside and is testament to the appeal of our content,” Wizard Games managing director Joey Hurtado said in a company news release. “Our games are performing strongly in North America and, together, with a leading brand like BetMGM, we’ll further enhance our reach and introduce our content to new audiences. The U.S. offers great potential and we are excited about the opportunity to collaborate and grow with BetMGM.”
The latest announcement comes at a time when real money online casino players in West Virginia can add PointsBet offerings to the growing list of options in the state.
The latest participants in the West Virginia iGaming market follow on the heels of BetMGM, DraftKings, WynnBet and BetRivers in the state.
BetMGM, which is partnered with The Casino Club at the Greenbrier, offers table games such as poker, plus blackjack and roulette as well as online slots for online real money play.
“Wizard Games has an extensive portfolio of popular game titles and we’re excited to offer their content to BetMGM players in West Virginia,” BetMGM Director of Gaming Oliver Bartlett said in the release. “We’re constantly looking to expand and introduce new premium titles, like those from Wizard, which helps further strengthen BetMGM’s position as the leading online casino operator in the U.S.”
BetMGM launched its online casino in West Virginia in August 2020.
The latest news comes at an opportune time for West Virginia iGaming.
In January, the state had $192.1 million in online casino handle, down 31.5% from December’s $280.45 million wagered. The revenue also fell, though not quite as much in a month-over-month comparison, declining 21.3% from $8.7 million in December to $6.8 million in the first month of 2022.
