Valley Forge Casino Pennsylvania Review for 2024

My parents are older and don’t like driving far for a good time. Like them, many people living in Philadelphia’s sleepy suburbs might not want to venture into the city or travel to the shore to play the slots in Atlantic City.

Luckily, Valley Forge Casino Resort provides an exciting solution for suburban gamers. Conveniently located off Interstate 76, this colossal resort has an impressive gaming selection, a welcoming atmosphere, and friendly and helpful staff.

On top of all that, Valley Forge Casino also has two luxury hotel towers and half a dozen on-site eateries. It’s also a short drive from the King of Prussia Mall, the third-largest shopping mall in the country.

♦️ An Overview of Valley Forge Casino

Valley Forge Casino Resort is a one-stop shop for gaming, nightlife, shopping, dining, and live entertainment. This is a welcomed reprieve for suburban dwellers looking for a night of action in an area otherwise not known for much excitement. Situated near Valley Forge National Historic Park, Valley Forge Casino is also an exciting place for out-of-towners to visit or stay.

My parents and I visited Valley Forge Casino Resort because we wanted to enjoy a fun afternoon together without staying out too late. My mom and dad are both in their 70s and don’t like staying out well past their 11pm bedtime.

While Valley Forge Casino Resort is mainly smoke-free, it does have designated smoking areas. This was off-putting to my mom, as you can still smell cigarettes throughout most of the gaming floor.

The resort is also wonderful for corporate gatherings and special events. Reserve over 100,000 square feet of ballroom and event space for your wedding, family reunion, or work trip.

Are you a history buff? Be sure to visit Valley Forge National Historic Park. Visited by over 1.2 million people each year, this historic 3,500-acre park was the site of the Continental Army's third winter encampment during the American Revolutionary War.

🎰 Games at Valley Forge Casino

The main casino entrance is on the main floor of the Casino Hotel Tower. It boasts 40,000+ square feet of gaming excitement, including over 50 table games and 850 slots. The casino’s 1,800-square-foot FanDuel Sportsbook has 27 televisions, seven betting windows, and two sports tickers. Guests can place spreads, single bets, or parlays on all major sports in the U.S., including football, baseball, basketball, MMA, golf, and motorsports.

My parents and I enjoyed the extensive selection of slots, including new and old-school games. The slots I played were clean and in good condition. Among Valley Forge Casino Resort’s most popular slots are Dollar Storm, Dragon Link, Rich Little Piggies, Willy Wonka, and Buffalo Gold.

Guests actively playing the slots can enjoy complimentary drinks as well including cocktails, water, and beer, via the circulating servers. Complimentary coffee is also available for slot players earlier in the day. We all helped ourselves to quite a few cups of Joe!

Unfortunately, I did overhear one guest report that the slots were the tightest they’ve ever played and lost a massive amount of money without a single win. We’ve all had days like that before though, right?

The casino’s table games are open from 10am to 4am, Sunday through Thursday, and from 10am to 5am on Fridays and Saturdays. While my parents stuck to blackjack, guests can also play craps, mini-baccarat, Spanish 21, roulette, and poker.

ATMs are available throughout the casino floor, but there is a fee for withdrawals. Guests can also play their favorite slots without carrying cash using their Boyd Pay wallets. Simply download the Boyd Pay smartphone app, create an account, and add funds to your wallet.

🛏️ Accommodation at Valley Forge Casino

Overnight guests can stay in one of Valley Forge Casino Resort’s 442 rooms or suites split between the resort’s two luxury hotel towers. Reserve a classic-king, two-classic-kings, deluxe-king, deluxe-queen, interior-queen, or two-interior-queen room at the newly renovated Casino Tower. All rooms are equipped with a mini fridge, Keurig coffee maker, microwave, HD television, safe, and free Wi-Fi.

Want something more luxurious? Each of the 300 lavish rooms in the Stardust Tower boasts upgraded amenities and services, including free shuttle service to King of Prussia Mall, marble vanities, and flatscreen TVs. Stardust Tower guests also have access to the on-site seasonal pool and 24/7 fitness center, which is equipped with treadmills, ellipticals, and free weights. Guests can also enjoy mobile check-ins and check-outs, as well as digital room keys.

Valley Forge Casino Resorts’ seasonal outdoor pool, Valley Beach, is available to hotel and VIP guests during the summer. The pool is closed to the public on Fridays and Saturdays at 6pm and reopens for guests 21 and over at 7pm. Children under the age of 14 who are staying at the hotel must be accompanied by a registered hotel guest over the age of 21 at all times.

🛎️ Services and Facilities at Valley Forge Casino

Since we visited on a Sunday afternoon, Valley Forge Casino Resort wasn’t too crazy. It was easy for all three of us to find chairs at the table games, sit at open slots, and book a table at Revolution Chop House, the resort’s acclaimed on-site steakhouse.

Valley Forge Casino Resort has plenty of convenient on-site parking. My dad was lucky enough to find a spot right out front. But, like I said before, once we entered, my mom was immediately turned off by the smell of smoke.

Bars and Restaurants

We grabbed a bite to eat at Revolution Chop House before exploring the game floor. The restaurant’s bone-in meats menu includes a rack of lamb and a 24-ounce T-bone steak. Don’t like red meat? The steakhouse also serves seafood, soups, and salads. My mom ordered the smoked apple and burrata salad and loved every last bite.

Our server, Tori, was super friendly and answered all of my father’s questions about the filet mignon. And, trust me, he had quite a few!

Revolution Chop House is located on the mezzanine level, one floor above the casino. It is open from 5pm to 9pm on Sundays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and from 5pm to 10pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The restaurant is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays. Guests should be aware that Revolution Chop House is currently dine-in only and does not accept take-outs.

The resort has plenty of other dining options. Grab a table at Copper Whisk for classic American cuisine, or swing by Italian Market, a micro-restaurant located off the casino floor. Copper Whisk is openly open on Saturdays and Sundays from 8am to 2pm.

Guests can also visit Asianoodle for gourmet Far East fare. This authentic Asian micro-restaurant is open from 4pm to 10pm on Sundays, Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.

And, if you need that all important quick pick-me-up (and if you don’t, are you even doing gambling right?) you can grab a coffee or donut at Dunkin’ Donuts.

There are also three bars and lounges throughout the casino, including the Center Bar, which, as its name suggests, is located in the center of the casino. Guests can purchase beer, wine, and liquor from the bar from 10am through 2am daily.

Entertainment

Though we didn’t see a show, Valley Forge Casino Resort does host live entertainment. Guests can see musicians or comedians at the Venue every Friday and Saturday night. The Venue is located off the Stardust Hotel Tower lobby. Generation admission ranges in a crowd size of 550 to 1,000 guests.

Valley Forge Casino Resort’s second entertainment venue, The Vault, is currently available for private events only. The venue is located one level below the Stardust Hotel Tower lobby.

Valley Forge Casino Resort is an excellent place for virtually anyone to visit. Whether you’re coming from Philly or live in the nearby suburbs, there’s tons of fun to be had at this sprawling facility.

👨‍🦽 Accessibility at Valley Forge Casino

While the casino is primarily wheelchair-friendly, Valley Forge Casino Resort only has four wheelchair-accessible rooms with roll-in showers. Guests can rent scooters or wheelchairs.

💰 Bonuses and Promotions at Valley Forge Casino

Valley Forge Casino Resort is part of Boyd Rewards program and has five tiers: Ruby, Sapphire, Emerald, Onyx, and Titanium.

Members can advance tiers and unlock premium rewards by earning Tier Credits. The more you play, the more credits you earn. Members have January through December to earn their new tiers and can enjoy their new level for the rest of that year and all of the following. Tier Credits expire on December 31 of each year.

New Boyd Rewards members can get up to $300 in Boyd Points. Active or retired military Boyd Rewards members can enjoy 15% off food.

Ruby members have earned up to 749 Tier Credits and can enjoy special offers based on plays. To achieve Titanium status, players must earn 200,000+ Tier Credits.

Valley Forge Casino Resort continuously has new promotions. Enjoy deep savings on hotel rates, dining discounts, and more.

Unfortunately, compared to some of the other casinos I’ve visited, Valley Forge Casino Resort lacks exciting giveaways. I didn’t come across any giveaways for cars, cruises, or trips, which was a real bummer.

🎇 My Experience at Valley Forge Casino

Valley Forge Casino Resort was a chill weekend afternoon getaway for my parents and me. Since it was still early in the day, the gaming floor and restaurants weren’t too crowded, and we could easily get seats wherever we went. It was easy to find and get money from an ATM, and cashing out was a breeze. That is one advantage that gambling in person will always have over the best online casinos and the best online casinos with fast payout.

My parents and I all felt safe and comfortable during our visit. While I noticed some security on the casino floor, the amount of guards didn’t make us feel overwhelmed or put us off. I feel like Valley Forge Casino Resort amps up the security on weekend nights.

Though our visit was in the afternoon, there was a good mix of guests, including older individuals, twenty-somethings, and couples. Due to its close proximity to many local colleges and universities, I can see Valley Forge Casino Resort definitely drawing a much younger crowd during the evenings and nights.

My dad thoroughly enjoyed his filet mignon at Revolution Chop House, and I loved that our server took the time to answer his countless questions. She was such a gem!

However, none of us liked the smoky smell that lingers throughout the casino.

⭐ Standout Moment

My favorite part of my trip to Valley Forge Casino Resort was watching my mom win a round of blackjack. Though it wasn’t much money, her face still lit up with excitement when she saw her winning hand.

Her time at the blackjack table was even more memorable thanks to Ben, her dealer. He made her truly feel like a VIP.

💭 My Verdict on Valley Forge Casino

Valley Forge Casino Resort is an excellent place for virtually anyone to visit. Whether you’re coming from Philly or live in the nearby suburbs, there’s tons of fun to be had at this sprawling facility.

Though we didn’t stay overnight, the Valley Forge Casino Resort’s rooms and suites seem comfortable for weekend visitors. Just keep in mind that only four of the 442 rooms are wheelchair accessible.

🧭 How to get there

Valley Forge Casino Resort is just off Interstate 76 at 1160 First Avenue, King of Prussia, Pennsylvania. Drivers coming from Philadelphia or New Jersey over the Ben Franklin or Walt Whitman bridges can take Interstate 676 West to Interstate 76 West. From there, take Exit 327-328B-A toward Pottstown. Use the two left lanes to take the Mall Boulevard ramp, then keep right at the fork. Take North Gulph Road, then turn left on First Avenue. The casino will be on your right.

Septa Bus Route 125 from Philly takes you directly to the casino. Additionally, Valley Forge Casino guests who love to shop ‘til they drop should visit the nearby King of Prussia Mall. It is the third largest in the country and is home to over 450 retail stores.
